Action-Packed Meetings!

In part 1, I said your Patrol should have a life of its own! In Part 2, I explained how you were the only one that can make this happen.

One of the most important things you can do is have your own Patrol Meetings! When I was a Patrol Leader, I was able to run a handful of these with my Patrol.

It was hard work to put these together! Sometimes they were at my house; sometimes they were at another Scout’s. I had to make dozens of phone calls to coordinate the right time with the guys.

But despite all of the obstacles, the meetings were a great success! We played games, practiced skills, and hung out together. It gave our Patrol the edge and made Scouting richer and more enjoyable for all of us!

So what can you do at your Patrol meeting?

Play games – Different Scouting games (ones with action, challenge, and strategy!) are a great way to get to know the strengths and weaknesses of everyone in the Patrol. You will get valuable experience in working together as a team.

Learn skills – At a Patrol meeting, you can work one-on-one with the other Scouts to help them learn some important skills for rank advancement.

Plan the future – Patrol meetings are great times to talk with your team about where you’re headed and the things you can do in the future. How can you make the next camping trip better? What are some goals that the whole Patrol can work toward?

It will take effort, but you can make a real life for your Patrol!

It’s up to YOU!

Take a few seconds to write a comment describing the perfect Patrol Meeting. I want to hear your ideas!

Now read the description you wrote. YOU can make that a reality!

It’s your Patrol; do something awesome!
