Scouts who have earned Eagle during my tenure as Scoutmaster receive a custom engraved Buck knife. I take the knife to an engraver in our mall called “Things Remembered”. I buy the Buck 110 lock-back because the bolsters are flat brass (not curved like others) and this makes them suitable for engraving..
When I first started doing this the Buck knife 110 was about $20 but they are up to $35 or more now. The engraving is an additional $25. One side has an eagle on one end and the Scouts initials on the other ; the other side has “BSA” on one end and the Troop number on the other. I’ve given out about 40 of these the past 25 years.
The images that you see here are of a Buck knife that I will present at the end of July. I’m no longer Scoutmaster of Troop 720, but I was his Scoutmaster for three years when this Scout was senior patrol leader twice and a key leader in the Troop.
